I started reading Six of Crows last night, which is the first fantasy and the first YA that I’ve read in… some time. It keeps throwing me to see the character’s ages, and I can’t help but wonder what I would have thought of this book if I’d read it when I was 17.
My fiancé is going to read this alongside me, which will be interesting. He’s never been particularly fond of fantasy as a genre, and I used to be, but got frustrated with it and moved onto greener, more horror/espionage-laden pastures. But so far I like it so there you go.
recently I’ve been working on some blackout poetry, made from an old self-help book someone gifted me. bit of an… odd gift, but I’m happy to be able to turn it into a pretty cool project! the general theme of the poetry made out of this book is the dehumanising nature of unsolicited advice.
